Treasured Trees Canberra
Plant a living memory.
They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago... the second best time is today.
Welcome!
At Treasured Trees Canberra, we help you mark life’s most meaningful moments by planting a native tree in honour of a loved one, a birth, passing of a pet, a wedding, whatever the special occasion may be.
Whether you're celebrating, grieving, or simply wanting to leave a lasting legacy, our commemorative tree plantings offer a beautiful, living way to remember and reflect. Each tree contributes to the Canberra region’s natural beauty, supports local wildlife, and becomes part of a growing community urban forest.
Celebrate life. Honour memories. Grow something meaningful.

What is Treasured Trees Canberra?
Thank you for visiting our website — we’re so glad you’re here!
Treasured Trees Canberra is a local, family-owned micro business with a big heart. We're passionate about planting native trees to help make the Canberra region greener, wilder, and more beautiful — one tree at a time.
I'm Ben, and together with my enthusiastic Mini-Helper, we started this venture as a way to do something meaningful for both the environment and our community. We believe planting a tree can be more than just an act of sustainability — it can be a deeply personal way to celebrate life, honour a memory, or mark a special occasion.
We offer a variety of commemorative tree planting options for individuals, families, and organisations. Whether it’s in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a new beginning, we’re here to help you grow something that lasts.
We’re also working on community projects that people and businesses can get behind — and we love volunteering with local Landcare groups and ACT Government planting initiatives whenever we can.
All of our trees are native species sourced locally, and we’re committed to using biodegradable, environmentally-friendly materials. Most importantly, we take the time to understand what our customers are after and aim to create a warm, positive experience from start to finish.
We’d love to plant something special with you one day.

Sponsor Tree Growing and Planting
You might want to support positive environmental outcomes - well this is for you!
$10 can go a long way to support our ability to grow and plant more trees in our community, don't underestimate the power of a dollar!
Whilst sponsorship is not tax deductible, we offer our clients the opportunity to 'pay-it-forward' by providing funding that we will put aside, and when opportunities to plant trees present, we will use these funds towards native tree planting initiatives.
From as little as $5 to $100, your support will go a long way to enhancing the Canberra landscape and environment.
You decide the amount and we provide things like:
-
Native tree, shrub or grass
-
Fertiliser for soil
-
Woodchip mulch
-
Tree guard - Biodegradable cardboard
-
Bamboo or hardwood stake(s)
-

Project Work $0
We are looking to find suitable locations to plant larger quantities of native trees, on both public or private land - with approvals of course.
If you have private property and are interested in having trees planted on your land, please reach out and lets work together to see what we can do.
In certain circumstances we can source funding from our pay-it-forward customers or business supporters to cover the costs.
There is a waiting list for project but each project will be judged on its merits for funding priority.
Got an idea?
Something else on your mind?
Maybe you have an idea but it doesn't fit with any of the categories listed and want to discuss with us?

Callistemon Propegation Project Jun 2025
In December 2023 I watched a YouTube video on how to propagate Callistemon - or Bottlebrush - trees from cuttings ✂️, and I have successfully stuck about 6 new plants since then, lost about 20 too though.
On 1 June 2025 I took a branch cutting from the big tree in my backyard and made 17 potential new plants, I tried a bunch of different thicknesses and made up 4 with my homemade composted soil, hopefully they all survive though! I use a mix of components I had sitting around: bag potting mix, bag compost, homemade compost and some topsoil. I use hardwood rooting hormone too and find the dome shape from a cut-off Pepsi bottle is perfect size on a 180×170mm pot, filled about half way up. Place in a bright indirect sunlit position and I water as needed but the domes do most of the watering and keep them warm from the elements.
I'll do some updates in Spring as they take about 3 months before you know if they've survived.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ's will be added as they become relevant
On private land we will discuss options with the customer, because we don't need approvals, a tree can be planted anywhere.
On public land, we need to ensure approvals by the relevant authority is in place before trees can be planted. In this case we work with the customer to find a general area for the tree before seeking approval.
The best way to achieve this is to fill out the contact us link, and provide details of what you're considering, then we will work with you to determine the best way to support you and your business.
No funding is too big or too small and we will always do our best to cater for any size budget.
